We try to
find Cornelius Hendrikus Wortelboer, born 21 November 1919 (Lochem,
Netherlands) and died 8 feb 1977 (Calgary, Canada).
He married Olga Bernadette D'Agrella, on 1st May 1953 in
Georgetown, Guyana (then British Guiana), South America. They were
divorced in 1957.
Olga died in Brampton, Ontario, Canada,
on 13th March 2008.
She was born on 16 December 1926 in Pomeroon, Essequibo, British
Guiana, South America.
Cornelius Hendrikus Wortelboer worked on a ship as a chef and, after their marriage,
Olga was supposed to join him in Rotterdam.
Briefly, Cornelius Hendrikus Wortelboer knew Olga’s boss who in turn knew her
(Olga's) aunt and, amongst them, they arranged the marriage.
Unfortunately, she never made the trip to Rotterdam and Cornelius Hendrikus
Wortelboer filed for a divorce whilst in the Netherlands in 1957.

On the 7th of october 2004,
Els Wortelboer received an email which included the prenames David
and Mathijs Wortelboer. Those prenames were not recognised in the
current known Wortelboer genealogy database. The only clue was that
the names looked Jewish. By a call in the dutch "Nieuw
Israelitish Weekblad on 15 october 2004,
Els received a reaction by which she was able to establish contact
with two of the descendants of David and Mathijs Wortelboer
The information we have so
far: This "jewish" familyname Wortelboer has been given in 1812, (Ordered
by Napoleon: everbody had to take a name, "Naamsaannemingsregister",
Amsterdam 1811-1826, by NKvJG")
